Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) is the only national student pro bono program in the world! There are branches at every law school in Canada. Last year over 2000 law students participated in PBSC projects across the nation, donating almost 100 000 hours of free legal services. The program at UBC usually involves 50-70 students and approximately 20 organizations.
PBSC matches volunteer law students with public interest organizations, legal clinics, and lawyers. Projects include: legal research; writing memos, policy documents, manuals and client brochures; community legal education; and assistance with public interest or pro bono work.
